UI Museum Of Art Will Host Annual Fundraiser Oct. 14

The Members Council of the University of Iowa Museum of Art (UIMA) will host "The Museum Party!" from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Oct. 14, at the museum. The event, co-chaired by Kumi Morris and Jack Piper, will raise funds to support the museum's special programs and events.

For this evening, a portion of the UIMA will take on the atmosphere of a jazz lounge. "The Museum Party!" will feature live entertainment performed and donated by Betsy Hickok, Dan Knight, Maggie Mowery, Connie Peterson, Keith Steurer and Alan Swanson. Hors d'oeuvres will be donated by Atlas World Grill, Formosa Asian Cuisine & Sake Bar, Joseph's Steakhouse, Linn Street Cafe, Motley Cow Cafe, One Twenty Six, Redhead, Restaurant Verde, Takanami Restaurant and Taste on Melrose. There will be a cash bar.

Raffle prizes available at the event include an Ellen Wagener pastel landscape donated by Hudson River Gallery & Frame Co. The framed landscape (20"x20") has a value of $1,400; you must be present to win this item.

Each of the restaurants providing hors d'oeuvres has also donated a $100 gift certificate as a raffle prize. Other prizes available include a $125 gift certificate donated by Hands Jewelers, a $100 gift certificate to the Museum Store & Coffee Bar, and $100 Benefactor Memberships to the UIMA.

The raffle will be held the night of the party. Raffle tickets are $10 each and must be purchased separately by check (payable to the UI Museum of Art), cash or money order.
