UI Recreational Services Offers Wellness Programs

Registration has begun for a variety of pilates and yoga programs offered by -he University of Iowa Recreational Services. The classes begin the week of Oct. 17 at Halsey Hall and the UI Field House.

Pilates is designed to increase flexibility and strength through a variety of stretching and balancing movements. Beginner/intermediate and advanced pilates will be offered.

Yoga is a program in which poses are used to reduce stress, increase flexibility, strength, balance, and overall feeling of wellness. Hatha yoga, hatha yoga during pregnancy, integral yoga, and yoga will be offered.

The classes will be held at Halsey Hall or the Field House. They will all run for six-week sessions. The class fee is $42 for UI students and $48 for the public. Or, participants can pay the $9 walk-in fee per class.  Each class is offered weekly during for the six-week session.
