Singer-Songwriter Damon Dotson Guest On Dec. 1 'Talk of Iowa' Program

On the Dec. 1 edition of "Talk of Iowa Live from the Java House," pop, rock and blues artist Damon Dotson performs live and talks about emerging on the Midwest live music scene.

The program, hosted by Ben Kieffer, is broadcast live at 10 a.m. Fridays from the Java House, 211 E. Washington St. in Iowa City and can be heard on the University of Iowa Station WSUI-AM 910. The public is invited to join the audience for the program.

Dotson resides in Okoboji, Iowa where he was born and raised.  He began his musical path on the drums when he was 11 years old and quickly became an accomplished percussionist. In high school he played in many jazz and rock bands that helped him develop a broad range of musical tastes and influences. Dotson picked up a guitar in college where he began seriously writing and cultivating his unique blend of smooth guitar hooks and catchy melodies.  "Atmosphere" is the title of his first major studio album.  Most recently, he released "Live at Fireworks Cafe'" which was recorded in Moline, Ill.

"Talk of Iowa Live from the Java House" offers an eclectic variety of topics and guests for its listeners. The show is broadcast live statewide to an estimated 30,000 listeners each week on Iowa Public Radio stations WSUI AM 910 Iowa City/Cedar Rapids, WOI-AM 640 Ames/Des Moines, KTPR-FM 91.1 Fort Dodge, KOWI-FM 97.9 Lamoni and KWOI-FM 90.7 Carroll. The broadcast can also be heard in streaming audio at by clicking on "Listen to WSUI"; it is rebroadcast on WSUI at 10 p.m. Fridays. It is also broadcast several days later on cable TV over UITV in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area.
