UI Engineering Student Wins National Tau Beta Pi Fellowship
Sayyed Farshid Moussavi-Harami of Iowa City, who earned a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa College of Engineering in May 2006, has been awarded a 2006-2007 Tau Beta Pi Fellowship, one of only 35 such fellowships presented nationally.
He plans to use the award, which carries a $10,000 cash stipend for one year of graduate study, to complete his studies in biomedical engineering at the University of Iowa.
Now in its 73rd year, the Tau Beta Pi Fellowship Program is the principal philanthropic activity of the society. Tau Beta Pi, The Engineering Honor Society, was founded in 1885 to honor those undergraduates engineering scholarship and exemplary character.
