Workshop Offers Direction On Promotion To Full Professor
The University of Iowa chapter of the American Association of University Professors, Faculty Senate and Provost's Office will hold a workshop from 6:30 to 9 p.m. April 4 that will provide direction to associate professors about becoming full professors.
The workshop will be in W401 of the John Pappajohn Business Building and begins with refreshments at 6:30 p.m., followed by the formal program at 7 p.m. The event is free.
The workshop will focus on the standards and procedures applicable to promotion to the rank of full professor. Scheduled speakers include Associate Provost for Faculty Susan Johnson and College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Executive Associate Dean Raul Curto. Collegiate representatives from CLAS and the colleges of Business, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health will be available as well to discuss the procedures and substantive standards governing promotion to the rank of full professor within the different colleges.
