David Wynes Appointed To National Research Universities Board
David Wynes, University of Iowa senior associate vice president for research, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Council on Governmental Relations (COGR) Board of Directors.
Wynes, who recently received a Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award for outstanding contributions to the university, will continue to serve on the council's Research Compliance and Administration Committee, a position he has held for the past two years.
"Serving on the COGR Board provides the university with an opportunity to communicate directly with senior administrators of federal agencies regarding the impact of government regulations, funding decisions, and other policies on higher education," Wynes said.
Based in Washington, D.C., COGR is an association of 170 research universities and their affiliated hospitals and research institutes in the United States. Since 1948, COGR has worked with federal agencies to develop a common understanding of the impact that federal policies and practices may have on the research conducted by its membership.
