Golf Invitational Will Benefit Burn Patients At UI Hospitals And Clinics
Golfers are invited to participate in the first Burn Treatment Center Golf Invitational on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the Brown Deer Golf Course in Coralville. Proceeds from the event will help people with burn injuries by supporting the Burn Treatment Center at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A total of 80 golfers may participate. Spots still are available for six more teams of four players each. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at the course, with shotgun tee-off at 12 p.m. Individuals who wish to pre-register may call 319-356-3224 or email email@example.com.
The Burn Treatment Center is the state's only verified burn center. Specialists provide comprehensive care to adult and pediatric patients throughout their entire recoveries, including following their discharge from the hospital.
The Burn Treatment Center and Children's Hospital of Iowa within UI Hospitals and Clinics provide an important opportunity for ongoing healing for burned children. The Miracle Burn Camp helps children between the ages of seven and 17 to learn in a positive environment how to live with their burn injuries.
The Burn Treatment Center and Children's Hospital of Iowa also offer a key fire safety program for children. The Kids on the Block puppeteer program reaches students in their classrooms and helps them learn how to prevent burn injuries. Specialists also provide re-entry programs to help ease the transition back to school or work for burn patients.
Funds raised during the Burn Treatment Center Golf Invitational will support these and other efforts. For more information, contact Jacqueline Heinle, nurse manager, at 319-356-3224 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or Lisa Falkers, registered nurse, at 319-356-2496 or email@example.com.
