Fall Job And Internship Fair Sept. 22 At Iowa Memorial Union

An estimated 1,800 University of Iowa students will attend the university's largest career fair of the year on Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Fall Job and Internship Fair, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union. All students seeking full-time positions and internships are encouraged to attend.

Sponsored by the UI's Marvin A. and Rose Lee Pomerantz Career Center, the event will host 140 organizations. Representatives from both Iowa and national companies will be at the fair including Target, John Deere and Accenture.

"This is a great opportunity to network with potential employers about full-time or internship positions," said Angi Schumacher, director of marketing and public relations at the Pomerantz Career Center.

She advises students to prepare for the fair like they would for an interview. "Bring copies of your resume, dress appropriately and bring a list of questions that you have for the employers. This is a great way to jump start your career search."

Sponsors of the Fall Job and Internship Fair are General Electric, Target Stores, Waddell and Reed, Inc., HNI Corporation, Orbitz and Hertz Local Edition.
