Business Journalist Marshall Loeb To Speak At Tippie College Sept. 21

Marshall Loeb, one of the most influential business journalists in the country, will speak to University of Iowa students on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Tippie College of Business.

Loeb, who has been managing editor of two leading business magazines - Fortune and Money -- will speak at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 21 in the Tenneco Colloquium, Room S401 of the Pappajohn Business Building.

The New York Times called Loeb " of the most important and influential business journalists of the 20th Century." Under his leadership, Money became the fastest growing magazine in America, while Fortune was the first business magazine to win the National Magazine Award for General Excellence. Most recently, he served as editor of the Columbia Journalism Review.

Loeb is currently senior correspondent and columnist for MarketWatch from Dow Jones, a leading business and financial news web site, and a commentator on CBS Radio. He is a noted speaker and personal finance pioneer who has written 14 books, including "52 Weeks to Financial Fitness: The Week-by-Week Plan for Making Your Money Grow."

He is visiting the UI in conjunction with a luncheon program sponsored by the Advertising Federation of Cedar Rapids 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel 350 First Ave. SE in Cedar Rapids. Loeb will share his insights on 10 trends in the new global economy and how these trends will impact business owners.
