Coral Ridge Avenue Reduced To One Lane Near Oakdale Campus
Construction crews will be improving the shoulders along Coral Ridge Avenue between Commerce Drive and the city limit line between Coralville and North Liberty beginning Tuesday morning, Nov. 1. and ending Friday, Nov. 4. This includes the section of road (also known as Highway 965) at the western edge of the University of Iowa's Oakdale Campus.
The improvements include placing a two-foot wide asphalt shoulder adjacent to the existing pavement, and will require part of Coral Ridge Avenue to be reduced to one lane with flagger control. The entire length of the project will not be reduced to one lane, only the section where work is occurring that day.
The contractor will restrict work hours to between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. in an effort to avoid the late afternoon rush hour.
Drivers should expect delays along this corridor during the shoulder improvements project and are asked to adjust schedules accordingly or choose another route if possible. Questions can be directed to Assistant City Engineer Scott Larson at 319-248-1720.
