Role Of Spirituality At UIHC Topic Of Luncheon Forum
Richard Dobyns, professor of family medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, will examine how spiritual matters are discussed at UIHC during the Finding God at Iowa luncheon forum at noon Friday, Nov. 4, in River Room #1 of the Iowa Memorial Union. The event is free and open to the public.
The discussion, "Is It Okay to Talk About God at UIHC? A Discussion of Changing Attitudes," examines spiritual matters in both patient care and teaching. Dobyns will also discuss how he teaches Clinical Pastoral Education residents how to deliver spiritual support in a discordant environment.
The Finding God at Iowa Lunch Forum is a program of the Geneva Campus Ministry at UI, which aims to create a healthy environment for the life of the spirit and the life of the mind. For further information, contact Edward Laarman at 319-341-0007 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
