WHERE: University of Iowa campus
WHY: To honor Ponseti, UI professor emeritus of orthopaedics and the developer of the "Ponseti method," a non-surgical approach to correcting congenital clubfoot disorders.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Friday, Oct. 7
-- 8:50 a.m.: Stan James, M.D., previews Ponseti Clubfoot Races in the Larson Conference Room, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Lower Level, John Pappajohn Pavilion.
-- 9 a.m.: Jody Buckwalter, M.D., professor and head of the UI Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, names marathon runner Alberto Salazar honorary chairman of the Second Annual Ponseti Clubfoot Races in the Larson Conference Room.
-- 10 a.m.: Demonstration of the "Ponseti method" with patients in the Larson Conference Room.
Saturday, Oct. 8
-- 1 p.m.: Ponseti Clubfoot Races in the UI Recreation Building
