Christian, Jewish, Muslim Women To Discuss Israel-Palestine Peace Oct. 14
Three women from Israel and Palestine will visit the University of Iowa Friday, Oct. 14, to speak about their efforts to secure peace in their land. They will present "Jerusalem Women Speak: Three Women, Three Faiths, One Shared Vision," from 1 to 3 p.m. in Room 302, Schaeffer Hall.
Their presentation is organized through Partners for Peace, a non-profit organization that has sought for more than a decade to educate the American public about key issues in the effort to secure peace and justice in the Middle East. UI co-sponsors include the Departments of History and of Women's Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, UI Center for Human Rights and Iowa City Foreign Relations Council.
Speaking at the forum will be Sherene Abdulhadi, a Muslim Palestinian from Jerusalem; Roni Hammerman, a Jewish Israeli from Jerusalem; and Amira Hillal, a Christian Palestinian from Beit Sahour in the West Bank.
