Bibliophiles To Discuss Photography Books

University of Iowa MFA student David Herwaldt will discuss photography books and books about photography at the next meeting of the Iowa Bibliophiles on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Main Library.

Herwaldt is a student in graphic design and a longtime, serious collector of books on photography. He will examine such classic photography books as "Street Life in London," "Let Us Now Praise Famous Men," "The Sweet Flypaper of Life" and "Love on the West Bank." He will also examine the effects of design changes and variations in reproduction quality.

The Iowa Bibliophiles' primary objective is to provide a forum to share and gather experience and information about books and book collecting. The group is for anyone with a serious interest in books, their creation, preservation and collecting.
