'Christmas Box' Featured On 'Talk of Iowa' Radio Program Nov. 11
Richard Paul Evans, bestselling author of "The Christmas Box," will be the guest on the Nov. 11 edition of "Talk of Iowa" radio program, broadcast live at 10 a.m. on WSUI AM 910 from The Java House in Iowa City.
Evans will discuss his latest book "The Sunflower," a love story set in a sanctuary for Peruvian street children. Each of his bestselling novels has been translated into more than 17 languages and adapted into award-winning television movies. Kirkus Reviews calls his latest novel "a romantic meditation on faith, redemption and public service." Evans is the founder of The Christmas Box House International, an organization devoted to building shelters and providing services for abused and neglected children.
The show will also feature live music by the band Steppin' in It. This group from Lansing, Mich., plays what Performing Songwriter Magazine calls "some of the liveliest and most rocking acoustic roots music around."
Hosted and produced by Ben Kieffer, "Talk of Iowa Live" offers an eclectic variety of topics and guests for its listeners. The public is invited to join the audience at The Java House in downtown Iowa City. It can be heard on WSUI AM 910 from Iowa City/Cedar Rapids, WOI AM 640 from Ames/Des Moines, KTPR - FM 91.1 from Fort Dodge, KOWI FM 97.9 from Lamoni and KWOI FM 90.7 from Carroll. The broadcast can also be heard in streaming audio at http://wsui.uiowa.edu/ by clicking on "Listen to WSUI"; it is rebroadcast on WSUI at 10 p.m. Fridays.
