Spring Job And Internship Fair March 23 At Iowa Memorial Union

More than 80 local and out-of-state businesses are coming to The University of Iowa campus to recruit employees and interns. The March 23rd Spring Job and Internship Fair is sponsored by the UI Career Center and will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union. All students seeking full-time positions and internships are encouraged to attend. 

This annual event is estimated to have an attendance of more than 700 students. Participating companies include Target, Pella Corporation and Cardinal Health.

"This is a great opportunity to network with potential employers about full-time or internship positions," said Angi Schumacher, associate director of marketing at the UI Career Center.

She advises students to prepare for the fair like they would for an interview. "Bring copies of your resume, dress appropriately and bring a list of questions that you have for the employers. This is a great way to jump start your career search."

The UI Career Center provides services to students and alumni from the University of Iowa. Services available include career and major exploration, assessment tools, career advising, job and internship search resources such as UI Employment Expo, an online recruiting system. The Career Center hosts several career fairs annually, career education programs for students, mock interviews and many programs and services.
