Children's Miracle Network Telethon To Hit The Airwaves

Mediacom Communications Corporation will broadcast the Children's Miracle Network Telethon statewide throughout Iowa Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5.

For the third consecutive year, Mediacom is the "exclusive broadcast partner" with the Children's Hospital of Iowa at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to broadcast the Children's Miracle Network Telethon.

This year's telethon, hosted by Marie Osmond and John Schneider, features musical entertainment acts -- including Kool and the Gang -- and short stories about how children are being helped through the efforts of the Children's Miracle Network.

The Children's Miracle Network Telethon raises money to support children's hospitals across the United States and Canada. During the program there will be a local phone number and Web site on the screen for viewers who want to donate to the Children's Miracle Network at the Children's Hospital of Iowa. Best of all, the funds raised from Iowa will stay in Iowa.

"The stories of children served by the Children's Hospital of Iowa are indicative of the types of specialists that are available at Iowa's only academic medical center. Iowa is fortunate to have the depth of services available here in Iowa City," said Michael Artman, M.D., UI professor and head of pediatrics and physician-in-chief at Children's Hospital of Iowa.

The Children's Miracle Network Telethon will be shown from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 4, and from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 5.
