Natural History Museum Begins Children's Art Classes Jan. 29
The University of Iowa Museum of Natural History will offer a series of five consecutive Saturday morning art classes for children in the first through third grades, from 10:30 a.m. until noon, beginning Saturday, Jan. 29. The program, titled "Art! It's Natural," will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 26. All classes will be held in Macbride Hall on the UI campus.
The fun-filled, nature-related art activities are:
--Jan. 29, "Watercolors and crayons"
--Feb. 5, "Shadow boxes"
--Feb. 12, "Mobiles"
--Feb. 19, "Storybooks"
--Feb. 26, "Collages"
Enrollment is limited to 15 students, and the cost is $25 per student for the five-class session. Interested individuals should call the Museum of Natural History to register at 319-335-0480 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, or 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday.
