UI Senior From Des Moines Wins Liberal Arts & Sciences Scholarship
Kathleen McNulty, a University of Iowa senior from Des Moines, has been awarded the $1,000 Kay Keeshan Hamod Scholarship from the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The award is given annually to a liberal arts and sciences student who is majoring in history and is a member of the Honors Program.
In addition to history, McNulty is majoring in political science and international studies with a minor in Spanish. She is a 2001 graduate of Roosevelt High School and is the daughter of Patrick McNulty and Mary Kundrat of 1814 69th St. in Des Moines.
Kay Keeshan Hamod received her doctorate in modern European intellectual history from the UI in 1976. Hamod taught at the UI, Bowling Green University, and Rutgers University. Her family established this scholarship in her memory.
