New West Liberty High School Hosts College Night With UI

West Liberty High School has teamed with the University of Iowa to sponsor a College Night for Latino students and their parents from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the new West Liberty High School, 310 W. Maxson Ave., West Liberty.

Many Latino students face unique challenges when they contemplate post-secondary education. College Night is designed to help them make more informed choices.

The event will begin with a brief keynote address followed by a 30-minute, bilingual financial aid presentation. The rest of the evening will feature breakout sessions on taking the ACT, college prep, residency status and college admission, and a Latino student panel. The event is free and there will be door prizes.
