UI Students Invited To Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Iowa Conference On Feb. 25

University of Iowa students interested in entrepreneurship or small business are invited to attend the fourth annual Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Iowa Conference (CEIC) at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in Mason City on Friday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Iowa college students and faculty will have the opportunity to network, brainstorm, listen to successful entrepreneur speakers and learn from other entrepreneurs. The event, co-sponsored by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) at the University of Iowa, brings together entrepreneurs who have made a significant impact on Iowa, the United States and the world.

The CEIC is free to all Iowa college students and faculty; the UI JPEC will provide lunch and transportation to Mason City for UI students. UI students interested in attending this event should contact Dawn Bowlus at the UI JPEC, Suite S160 in the Pappajohn Business Building, or call 319-335-0985. Registration forms and a complete agenda are available at Registrations are being accepted until Feb. 17.

The CEIC will feature John Pappajohn, president of Equity Dynamics Inc. and founder of the five Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Centers across Iowa; Mike Marolt, president of eq-life, a Best Buy entity; Melinda Nelson Masson, president and CEO of The Merit Companies; and Curtis, Dennis and John Lewerke, co-founders of Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry, Inc.

Sessions at the CEIC will include "How to Start a Small Business," "Running a Successful Business in Your 20s," "Starting a CEO Chapter" and "Speaking with Angel Investors."

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center at NIACC will host the conference.  Conference sponsors include the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization! (CEO!) as well as the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Centers at NIACC, the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa and Drake University.

The conference is not open to the general public, but the speaker symposium, starting at 12:30 p.m., is open to the public for a $10 fee. See the NIACC web site for more information:
