Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Finder Training Session Available
Faculty and students from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy will hold a training session on the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Finder from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Iowa City Public Library in downtown Iowa City. The session is free and open to the public.
The session will be held in the library's training lab, located on the second floor. Class size is limited to 20 people; advanced registration is required. To register by phone, call 319-356-5200. The Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Finder was launched at http://www.medicare.gov last October. The tool is designed to help people with Medicare find a Medicare drug plan that best fits their needs.
Seniors attending the sessions are encouraged to bring their Medicare card; any correspondence from the Social Security Administration regarding their eligibility for low-income assistance; any correspondence from their private insurance carrier(s); and a list of all medications they are taking.
