Theatre Department Holds Public Auditions at UI Aug. 25-28
The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts will hold public auditions for a variety of 2005-06 productions and readings Aug. 25-28 in the UI Theatre Building. General auditions will be 7-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Aug. 25 and 26 in Theatre B, with callbacks in various rooms on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27 and 28.
An audition sign-up sheet will be posted on the Theatre Building callboard, located between rooms 166 and 170, on Aug. 22. Visit the department's on-line callboard at http://research2.its.uiowa.edu/callboard/.
The three-minute audition requires a prepared monologue or song. An audition guide, with instructions and hints, is available from the Department of Theatre Arts office in the Theatre Building, or on the callboard.
No affiliation with the theater department or the UI is required to participate in UI theater productions. Actors of all ages and levels of experience are encouraged to audition. The department observes a policy of color-blind casting.
