Puppets, Children's Music Featured April 29 On 'Java House' Program

On the April 29 edition of "Talk of Iowa Live from The Java House," members of West Liberty's renowned Eulenspiegel Puppets perform music and radio-friendly skits to mark their 30-year anniversary. The "Java House" program, produced by the University of Iowa public radio station WSUI-AM 910, is broadcast live on public radio affiliates throughout Iowa.

Eulenspiegel has been a featured performer at numerous national and regional festivals, as well as festivals in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Japan. In 2000, Eulenspiegel was honored with the Iowa Arts Award for its longterm commitment to excellence in the arts.

The program will also feature Melissa Blum of West Music sharing Sounds Like Fun, a new line of early childhood development products. The collection includes ergonomically and educationally designed hand percussion items and other instruments, designed for children from birth to five years. The instruments may be of interest to parents, grandparents and caregivers who recognize the importance of early music making for total child development and educational success.
