Y105-FM Radiothon Benefits Children's Hospital Of Iowa

The third annual Y105-FM radiothon hosted by Chris Farber and Rachel Redford to support the Children's Miracle Network raised $77,060.42 during the special event at Kennedy Mall in Dubuque last week.

Proceeds of the program will benefit patients of Children's Hospital of Iowa at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City and its outreach clinics across the state. Donations to the radiothon remain in the local region to benefit critically ill and injured children. More than 130,000 children receive care at the Children's Hospital of Iowa each year, including thousands from the tri-state area.

"We were thrilled to meet so many special families who have either received treatment at Children's Hospital of Iowa or are receiving treatment right now," Farber said. "They couldn't say enough about the care they've received, especially from their nurses."

"The support for Children's Hospital of Iowa from our listeners and these families is phenomenal," added co-host Redford. "Once again, their generosity exceeded our wildest expectations."

The radiothon aired from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 14-17. Farber and Redford shared the stories of former and current patients of Children's Hospital of Iowa and the dedicated physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who care for them.
