New Taking Strides Program Encourages Students To Get Active
Health Iowa/Student Health Service at the University of Iowa has announced the launch of Taking Strides, a new walking program that challenges students to increase the number of steps they take throughout the day.
Taking Strides uses pedometers to help students monitor and increase daily steps and in turn increase physical activity levels.
"Participants will feel great about increasing their activity level, and they will also receive prizes for achieving specific milestones," said Amy Fletcher, a fitness education specialist with Health Iowa/Student Health Service.
Taking Strides is free for all UI students. For additional information, contact Fletcher at 319-335-8213 or learn about the program online at www.uistudenthealth.com/strides/.
