UI Cancer Physician To Offer Outreach Service In Fairfield

A cancer specialist from University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics will hold an outreach consultation clinic in Fairfield on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon.

Elias Hazzi, M.D., a hematologist/oncologist, will staff the clinic at Jefferson County Hospital. Hazzi received his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Damascus, Syria in 1989. He served a three-year internal medicine residency at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, including a one-year term as chief resident in 1999. Hazzi also completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Program in New York, N.Y. from 2000 to 2003.

Hazzi is board-certified in both internal medicine and hematology/oncology. He specializes in hematology and oncology diseases and conducts research in breast and gastrointestinal tumors.
