Fantasy Writer Tamora Pierce Reads 'Live From Prairie Lights' Oct. 22

Tamora Pierce, a leading author of fantasies for junior-high and high-school readers, will read from "Trickster's Queen" at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 on the "Live from Prairie Lights" series on University of Iowa radio station WSUI, AM 910.

The reading, hosted by Julie Englander, will be a free event at the Prairie Lights bookstore at 15 S. Dubuque St. in downtown Iowa City. Listen on the Internet at <>.

Pierce's new book is a sequel to her well-received "Trickster's Choice," part of her popular series of Alanna novels.

Anna M. Nelson wrote for the School Library Journal, "The plot sweeps readers along in a whirlwind of court intrigue, deception, murder, and romance. The humor is wicked, and the plot twists will keep the pages turning to the supremely satisfying end."

Pierce has written more than 20 books for teenagers, including three completed quartets: "The Song of the Lioness," "The Immortals" and "The Protector of the Small," set in the fantasy realm of Tortall. She has also written the "Circle of Magic" and "The Circle Opens" quartets.
