Skorton To Speak On Engagement In Annual Keynote Oct. 13
University of Iowa President David J. Skorton will speak about "Engagement" in his annual keynote address Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the second floor ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union. A reception will follow the talk, which is free and open to the public.
The address will focus on the importance of engaging the public through outreach, not only in terms of traditional concepts of "service" in the university, but in everything the university does including teaching and research. Faculty, staff and students are especially encouraged to attend.
Skorton initiated the President's Keynote in Fall 2003 as a way to set the dominant tone for the academic year ahead.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the President's Office in advance at 319-335-3549.
