Collective Bargaining Between Regents, SEIU Begins Nov. 16
Collective bargaining between the union representing professional healthcare employees at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, will begin with two public meetings Nov. 16 and Nov. 30. Both meetings will begin at 4 p.m. The Nov. 16 meeting will be in 100A Pharmacy Building. The Nov. 30 meeting will be held in the Ohio State Room, Room 343 of the Iowa Memorial Union.
As required by Iowa law, representatives of the Service Employees International Union, Local 199, will present their initial offer regarding wages and benefits for the 2005-06 fiscal year at the first meeting.
The Board of Regents negotiators will present their initial offer at the second meeting.
Subsequent meetings between the two sides will be closed to the public and the news media, as allowed by law.
