Class Of 2007 Starts At UI Law School
Some members of the UI College of Law's Class of 2007 began their law school careers with the opening of summer classes and an orientation session this week.
Although most first-year law students won't start classes until the fall, 30 of them got a head start. They were welcomed by law school Dean N. William Hines and dean designate Carolyn Jones on Monday, the start of a week-long orientation session that will inform them about law classes and legal reasoning, as well as the law school and the university, and the greater Iowa City community.
The 30 summer entrants include: 22 Iowa residents; six minorities; 18 men; 12 women; recipients of undergraduate degrees from 19 different institutions; and a total of 17 different undergraduate majors.
