UI To Exhibit At College And Career Fair In Illinois
The University of Iowa's office of Opportunity at Iowa will participate in the 3rd Annual Lincoln Middle School College and Career Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 14 at Lincoln Middle School, 1101 Bond Ave., East St. Louis, Ill. More than 600 students and parents are expected to attend.
The fair will provide students and parents the opportunity to meet and talk with college representatives, including the UI, about what is required for admission to their institutions. Students will also have the opportunity to hear various professionals discuss their career choices and what it took for them to achieve their level of success.
The fair is organized by the Association for Education Excellence and Educational Talent Search. Talent Search programs provide retention services that keep students in school until graduation and help them to go on to institutions of higher education.
Opportunity at Iowa will represent the UI, a Big Ten school, and one of the most progressive universities for minorities in the Midwest. Opportunity at Iowa works collaboratively with UI offices to offer programs that include recruitment, retention, financial support, services, and counseling.
