UI Student Named German Academic Exchange Service Scholar
Roy McGarrah of Edwards, Ill., a junior in the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has been named a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholar by the German organization.
Some 56 undergraduate scholarship winners from 46 different Canadian and U.S. universities were selected from a pool of 294 applicants to receive the prestigious scholarship to study in Germany.
The German Academic Exchange Service -- an organization of German higher education institutions -- is the largest international exchange organization in the world, supporting nearly 75,000 people each year.
