UI's Evening MBA Program Changes Name
The University of Iowa's Henry B. Tippie School of Management has changed the name of the Evening MBA Program to the MBA for Professionals and Managers (MBA-PM) to better describe the nature of the students it serves.
"The new name is more descriptive of the high caliber of UI students and the nature of the positions they hold or aspire to hold. The new name's acronym, MBA-PM, reinforces the convenient evening class times," said MBA-PM Director Colleen Downie.
The new name will be highlighted in all materials about the program, including a new website, http://www.biz.uiowa.edu/mbapm. The website will be active on June 1, and give prospective students and others a range of information about the MBA-PM program, including curriculum, admissions, financial aid, faculty, student accomplishments and connections to business.
The Tippie School's MBA-PM Program is designed for working professionals across Iowa. Courses are taught in the evenings and occasionally on Saturdays at three program sites throughout Iowa: Cedar Rapids, Des Moines/Newton and the Quad Cities. The flexible plan of study is designed to be completed without career interruption in three years.
This year, the MBA-PM Program had more than 700 students enrolled in its courses. These students had an average of eight years of professional work experience and represent 260 employers in Iowa and neighboring states.
The MBA-PM program is still accepting applications for the Fall 2004 semester though July 15; several information sessions are being held at program locations across the state.
