University of Iowa News Release
Feb. 19, 2004
As a part of Children's Dental Health Month, University of Iowa College of Dentistry students will perform a dental health puppet show at the Iowa Children's Museum at Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville Saturday, Feb. 21; Friday, Feb. 27; and Saturday, Feb. 28.
The 10-minute puppet show will be performed by UI students involved with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Following the show, children are invited to meet the students and practice proper tooth-brushing techniques while "brushing" the puppets' teeth.
The museum also features a dental gallery, and children will be given free samples of toothbrushes and toothpaste.
The Saturday shows run between 2 and 4 p.m., and the Friday shows run between 6 and 7:30 p.m. There is an admission fee for the Children's Museum on Saturdays, but the Friday performances are free.
