UI Students Invited To Attend Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Iowa Conference
University of Iowa students interested in entrepreneurship or small business are invited to attend the third annual Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Iowa Conference at the University of Northern Iowa on Feb. 27. This statewide conference brings together college students, faculty and staff from all over Iowa for a day of networking, education and inspirational speakers.
The conference will be held in UNI's Maucker Union from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. UI students interested in registering for this event should contact the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) at the Pappajohn Business Building, Suite S160, or call 319-335-0985. Registrations are being accepted until Feb. 20.
The conference is open only to Iowa college students, faculty and staff. It is not open to the general public. The conference is free to all Iowa college attendees. All costs are being covered by the conference sponsors, the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization, Collegiate VIP and the five statewide John Pappajohn Centers.
This year's conference includes a spectacular group of speakers: W.A. Krause, chief executive officer of the Krause Gentle Corporation; Dan Leese, chief operating officer of Beringer Blass Wine Estate of Napa, Calif.; Jerome Conway, president and chief executive officer of Austin Sonics Inc.; and Dan Schmitt, chief operating officer of Anthony Allen & Quinn.
Several young entrepreneurs who have started and are running successful small businesses will also tell their stories. The conference will also feature speakers from Collegiate VIP, an exciting and innovative virtual internship program for colleges and universities, as well as a speaker from the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization.
All non-breakout presentations will be webcast live on the UNI web site for those not able to attend. The presentations will be archived on UNI servers after the event and will be available for viewing after the conference.
