UI WISE Program Awards Travel Grants
The University of Iowa Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program has announced the fall semester award recipients of its Dr. Eunice Schuytema Beam Travel Grant Program.
The award winners, each of whom will receive $250 toward travel to a professional meeting to present scholarly work, are:
--Victoria Christine Klein of Denison, Iowa, a speech-language pathology master's degree student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, delivered an oral presentation, "Infants' Comprehension of Words at 8 and 11 Months of Age," at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Annual Conference in Philadelphia, Pa., Nov. 17-20, 2004.
--Holly Haushchild of Glidden, Wis., a mathematics doctoral student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, delivered an oral presentation, "An Isomorphism Between Affine BMW Algebras and Tangles in the Solid Torus," at the AMS Sectional Meeting in Pittsburgh, Pa., Nov. 6-7. 2004.
--Cassy Cozine of Iowa City, Iowa, an immunology doctoral student in the College Public Health, delivered both an oral presentation and a poster, "Characterization of Isotype Switched Germinal Center B Cells and a Kinetic Analysis of Switching Related Transcripts," at the 12th International Congress of Immunology, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, July 18-23, 2004.
