Geneva Announces Speakers For Finding God At Iowa Lunch Forum 2004-2005
The speakers for the 2004-2005 season of Geneva Campus Ministry's Finding God at Iowa luncheon forums have been announced. Each forum begins at noon in River Room 1 in the Iowa Memorial Union. Admission is free; participants provide their own lunch.
Now in its eighth year, the monthly forum is designed to stimulate participants through brief talks by UI faculty and staff to consider how faith influences their lives and work in the contemporary academy.
This year's schedule is:
Sept. 3, 2004: George "Geordie" Lawry, clinical professor of internal medicine
Oct. 1, 2004: Panel Discussion: "Does Faith Have a Role in Informing Our Political Choices, if so, How?" Moderated by Don Coffman, professor of curriculum and instruction. Panel members are: Cary Covington, associate professor of political science; Dottie Persson, psychology librarian; and John-Mark Stensvaag, professor of law
Nov. 5, 2004: Linda Snetselaar, associate professor of epidemiology.
Dec. 3, 2004: Oladipo Kukoyi, family practice staff member
Feb. 4, 2005: Panel Discussion: "Faith in the Contemporary University." Moderated by John Reitz, professor of law. Panel members are: Alice Fulton, professor of biochemistry; Stephanos Bibas, associate professor of law; and Lori Branch, assistant professor of English
March 4, 2005: Victoria Green, director of human resources, College of Dentistry
April 1, 2005: Janeta Fong Tansey, clinical assistant professor of psychiatry
May 6, 2005: Robert Summers, professor of internal medicine
