Poster Session April 29 Focuses On Language Instruction, Acquisition
Foreign Language Acquisition Research and Education (FLARE) students are hosting a research poster session on aspects of language instruction and acquisition on Thursday, April 29 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in 612 Phillips Hall on the University of Iowa campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Students will display their research using posters on such topics as study abroad preparation and return; students' perceptions of their teachers' corrections in a Japanese class; use of native language by students in online chat activities done in a foreign language; revision strategies in ESL writing: the impact of a writing center tutor feedback; and much more.
The faculty and student presenters will be available to talk with guests and other researchers on an informal basis. There will be no formal presentations, and drop-ins are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.

FLARE is a constituent unit of UI International Programs that administers the Second Language Acquisition Ph.D. in conjunction with the UI Graduate College.
International Programs consist of a number of offices, centers, degree programs, academic programs, research projects and services. Organized under the associate provost and dean for International Programs, these units serve to further internationalize the campus and community and promote global scholarship, research and teaching.
