UITV To Rebroadcast UI Keynote Address, Convocation
University of Iowa Television will rebroadcast both the Sept. 24 President's Keynote Address and the upcoming Sept. 30 Convocation.
The schedule is as follows:
Friday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m.: Keynote Address
Monday, Sept. 29, 7 p.m.: Keynote Address
Wednesday, Oct. 1: Keynote Address, 7 p.m.; Convocation, 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 3: Keynote Address, 7 p.m.; Convocation, 7:30 p.m.
UI President David Skorton gave the inaugural President's Keynote on Wednesday, Sept. 24 in the Iowa Memorial Union. The address, which Skorton plans to make an annual event, was titled "Inquiry" and outlined themes and a direction for the university, setting the dominant tone for the coming academic year.
The President's Keynote is a departure from recent years. The president's annual address had been given during the University Convocation each fall. Skorton decided to separate the events to keep the focus of Convocation on recognizing faculty, staff, and student excellence.
This year's Convocation is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Macbride Auditorium.
In Iowa City and Coralville, UITV is viewed on cable channel 17. Check your cable television listing for the UITV channel in your area.
