Thieves Market Art Sale Is At IMU Sept. 13-14
Thieves Market, the classic fall art sale at the University of Iowa, takes place Sept. 13-14 in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union where artisans from across the country will display for sale their handmade sculptures, paintings, jewelry and other artworks.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The Thieves Market is Saturday, Sept. 13 from noon to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The UI Fine Arts Council, which is sponsoring the art sale, also sponsors student arts grants given to students undertaking original works.
About 65 artists are expected to present their reasonably priced works, which include paintings, drawings, photographs, woodcarvings, fiber, ceramics, photography, jewelry, metalwork and more.
