MEDIA ADVISORY: Preparedness Training Exercise Is Nov. 5
WHAT: Reporters are invited to observe a training exercise in public health preparedness. During the exercise, a scenario of a public health emergency is presented and participants respond to the situation by assuming specific roles and using the communication structure known as the Incident Command System. The tabletop simulation is the capstone experience of the Iowa Center for Public Health Preparedness (ICPHP) Train-the-Trainer Program, an eight-month program designed to strengthen the preparedness skills of Iowa's public health workforce. The ICPHP is based in the University of Iowa College of Public Health.
