Complimentary Balance Screening And Fall Risk Assessment Offered
University of Iowa Health Care specialists will conduct balance screening and fall risk assessments free of charge from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at UI Hospitals and Clinics.
Falls are the leading cause of both fatal and nonfatal injuries to persons over age 65. Balance is also an important part of the safety and performance of all persons of all ages and activity levels.
It is not necessary to make an appointment for the screening or assessments. The session will occur on the first floor of John Colloton Pavilion. The event is provided as a public service through a collaborative effort by physical therapy staff of the Department of Rehabilitation Therapies and the Graduate Program in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science.
