Used Book Sale To Benefit UI Libraries
The University of Iowa Libraries' annual book sale will be from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, and from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 on the second floor of the Main Library, located on the corner of Madison and Burlington Streets. Admission is free and open to the public, and all proceeds will benefit the University of Iowa Libraries.
Items on sale include a substantial number of used children's books, art books, literature and literary criticism, Romance language literature, Asian, African and Middle Eastern history, as well as popular and scholarly titles in other subject areas.
On Saturday, most hardbound books will sell for $1 to $2 each, scholarly paperbacks $1 and mass market paperbacks at fifty cents. A bag sale will be held the second day, and all remaining books will be priced at $5 a bag. The bags will be provided by Prairie Lights Books of Iowa City.
Customers should enter the library through the north entrance. Payment must be made in cash or in-state checks only. For additional information, please contact the University of Iowa Libraries, 319-335-5867.
