UI To Begin Interviewing Provost Candidates Dec. 1
On Monday, Dec. 1 the University of Iowa will hold the first of a series of interviews planned with the six candidates for UI provost.
The candidates are scheduled for interviews on the following dates: Dec. 1-2, Dec. 4-5, Dec. 8-9, Dec. 11-12, Dec. 15-16 and Dec. 17-18. In each case, the UI will announce the candidate and post that person's CV on the Provost Search website at noon the day before that candidate comes to campus. The website can be found at http://www.uiowa.edu/provostsearch.
Additional information of subsequent on-campus interviews will appear following the Thanksgiving break.
Each candidate will take part in two public events, a public forum for taking questions and answers from a faculty panel and a public symposium on the candidate's scholarly activity.
For the first on-campus interview, Monday and Tuesday Dec. 1 and 2, the candidate's CV will be posted at noon Sunday, Nov. 30. The public forum and Q&A is scheduled for 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday in W151 of the Pappajohn Business Building. And the public symposium is scheduled for 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in W401 of the same building.
The purpose of the on-campus visit is two-fold. First, the UI hopes to give each candidate an excellent impression of the university. Second, the visit is an opportunity for the UI community to meet and evaluate each candidate.
