UI Follows Federal Move To Orange Alert Status
The University of Iowa is responding to the federal Department of Homeland Security's decision Tuesday afternoon to raise the terror alert level to orange status, or "high," from the lower yellow, or "elevated," status.
"Please continue to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to our department," said Charles Green, UI assistant vice president and director of public safety.
Orange is the fourth highest of five possible color-coded alert statuses, which are (from lowest to greatest threat of terror attacks) low (green), guarded (blue), elevated (yellow), high (orange) and severe (red).
