UI Offers Undergraduate Business Courses In Quad Cities

This summer, students in the Quad Cities area will be able to take a University of Iowa business course without leaving town. Starting June 25, the UI Henry B. Tippie College of Business will be offering a marketing class at the Kahl Education Center in Davenport.

Introduction to Marketing Strategies meets June 16 to July 23 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. in Room 1004 at the Kahl Center, 326 W. Third Street.

Marketing and finance classes are also being offered in Des Moines this summer. The core business courses selected for this pilot program were chosen for their appeal to a wide audience of both UI and non-UI students. The three-credit-hour course is transferable to most community colleges and four-year colleges and universities in the area. UI students can use credits to complete requirements for a business major or minor or earn elective credits in all majors. Certain prerequisites may apply to each course.

"These classes can help you expand your business background and earn college credit while studying in your local area," said Vicki Vavra, assistant director in the Tippie College Undergraduate Program Office.
