Cargill Executive To Speak At Tippie College Of Business

The University of Iowa Henry B. Tippie College of Business will welcome Ted E. Ziemann, president of Cargill Health & Food Technologies, Minneapolis on Tuesday, March 25, as a speaker in its Pearson Leadership Lecture Series.

Tippie College students, faculty, staff, and selected members of the University and business communities have been invited to the presentation from 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the MidAmerica Energy Colloquium, Room W401 of the John Pappajohn Business Building.

Ziemann, an Iowa State University graduate who received an MBA degree from the UI in 1985, will speak about his international business experiences in Professor Peter Riesz's international marketing class in the morning.

Prior to joining Cargill in 2000 as president of Cargill Nutraceuticals, Ziemann served in various senior management positions with Rhone-Poulenc (now Aventis), including senior executive vice president, Plant and Animal Health Sector in Paris; president, Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company, North Carolina; president, Fine Chemicals Division, Paris; and senior vice president, Engineering and Operations Services.

Ziemann began his career as a chemical engineer with Monsanto Ag Company and advanced to director-level positions in marketing, manufacturing and engineering prior to joining Rhone-Poulenc.

He serves on the board of directors of Chata Biosystems, Inc., the board of council for Responsible Nutrition, and the board of the American and Foreign Christian Union, a non-profit organization that supports American churches in Paris and Berlin.
