President Bush To Nominate UI's Rosenthal To National Institute
President George W. Bush recently announced his intention to nominate Ann C. Rosenthal, senior engineer in the University of Iowa Facilities Services Group's department of operations and maintenance, to the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) board of directors.
A June 11 White House news release stated that the president intends to nominate Rosenthal for the remainder of a three-year term expiring Sept. 7, and an additional three-year term expiring Sept. 7, 2006.
If confirmed by the Senate, Rosenthal would join a 21-member board, consisting of 15 elected members and six individuals appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. Her duties would include attending three board meetings a year in Washington, D.C.
The NIBS is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides technical assistance to the Congress and the President on building codes and regulations, as well as facility design, construction and operational practices.
