Cultural Diversity Festival set for Feb. 23
The
annual Celebrating Cultural Diversity Festival (CCDF) will be held from noon
to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 at the University of Iowa Field House. This year's
theme is "Connecting Cultures/Sharing Community."
More than 100 diverse cultures, both international and domestic, will be
featured at the CCDF showcasing a variety of ethnic foods, arts & crafts,
music, sports, fashion and other activities. The festival offers fun for adults
and children while providing an opportunity to explore ways in which their
own unique cultural backgrounds intersect with other cultures from around
the world, bridging our global community.
"This year's Cultural Diversity Day has some outstanding activities
that we know will make this festival one of the best ever," says Joe
Coulter, associate provost for diversity and director of Opportunity at Iowa.
"This event is instrumental in bringing our diverse communities together
to celebrate our respective traditions."
Admission to the festival is free, but vendors will charge for food and
crafts.
For more information about the festival, see the CCDF website at: www.uiowa.edu/~ccdfest.
